The Nevertheless Principle, is the believer declaring to God by Faith that despite the challenges he or she will face, you will stay committed to the will of God. This is drawn directly from Jesus' Garden of Gethsemane prayer where he resolved, Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done. Luke 22:42
We believe Jesus demonstrated that the will of God is of higher importance than our own desires and thus we yield to his will by accepting what he has said and determined as best for us. Had Jesus followed his own momentary desire to be freed of the great sacrifice he faced, our salvation would have never been birthed. The Nevertheless Principle then fulfills the "whosoever invitation" of John 3:16. The great invitation of John 3:16 is universal to all men. It bids them to come and experience the love of God with no prerequisites. But whosoever falls short if an individual only comes. Although a great step, it falls short of the relational commitment God desires through his Son Jesus Christ. Its like going to a great feast, but never eating. The Nevertheless Principle is the consummation of that accepted invitation and has matured to understand that ultimately we must bow voluntarily to God's will.
When those who struggle with homosexuality and its variant forms understand that God's will is more important than any temptation, it will birth out deliverance for themselves and others. Just like Jesus, saying yes to God frees us to do what we have been purposed to do.
While we all will come to times in our lives in which we strongly desire God to change some circumstance, it is that glorious word YES that signals to God a relinquishment of your will and the full acceptance of his, even if you don't understand or agree. READ MORE BELIEFS
